Rosalind Billingsley is a graduate of Cambridge College
of Art in England. She has worked as a graphic
design artist, an illustrator, a fine artist and
portrait painter and has had work accepted by the Royal
Academy. Her paintings, posters and portraits are
to be found in many countries around the world.
Ros came to Toowoomba in 1992. Here she has worked
in graphic art, painted portraits, including the one of
Fred Hollows in the Refectory at USQ.
She has been busy writing and painting.
She says,
“I very much like the challenge of capturing an essence
with minimal spontaneous lines. Colour often
reinforces the ideas. My work is inspired by the
people, fashion, animal and bird life around me.
Sometimes they are iconic.”
“I very much enjoy mixing myth, dream or imagination,
with modern day facts and fashion, to give the images a
poetic feel.”
I particularly enjoy painting portraits.
